ABSTRACT
Each generation grapples with finding their career path and a fulfilling hobby. Yet, for the current generation, adapting to evolving trends presents a unique challenge. Our research indicates that today's high schoolers are remarkably similar to past generations in facing comparable hurdles. Their engagement with digital media, for instance, echoes how previous generations consumed magazines, and their career interests remain largely consistent. However, the media landscape itself has transformed dramatically. Information and interaction now move at an unprecedented pace, and crucially, individuals engage with these media in diverse and personalized ways. "Galilei" transcends traditional formats. It's not just an app, a website, a magazine, or a TikTok profile. It's a tailored solution designed to resonate with each student's individual preferences and aspirations.
HOW IT WORKS?
There’s a fine line between education and entertainment that is hard to cross. High schoolers and teenagers alike don’t want to be associated with their school, and they already have a mindset of school = boring. If our solution resembles too closely with school, we might enter the danger zone where Galilei = School = boring. And we don’t want that.
Our solution comes in different ways and different formats. Through school (threading carefully), through digital media (more creative freedom), and through events. What we want it’s not to impose our authority over them, it’s being interesting enough for them to come to us. It’s not about tests, games, or interviews. It’s about understanding their interests and planning accord with it.
SCHOOL
Distribution of magazines for each student. No pressure to read, do it on their own time.
DIGITAL MEDIA
Central hub website with aptitude tests, community discord server, classes, youtube, streaming.
EVENTS
Online and offline workshop for art, drawing and writing. Career days. Movies.
THEIR CHOICE
Shouldn’t feel like homework nor entertainment. It should be a hub to be sought.
THEIR TIME
Website planned to be accessed at strategic timing. During their homework, during their morning routine, while waiting for their game to find a match.
TEENAGE EXPERIENCE
Galilei is a choice. Maybe a suggestion, but at best it’s their choice. It won’t interfere with their daily and social life. To be accessed on their privacy, not on adult demands.
THE MAGAZINE
Quarterly magazines about professions, hobbies, trends, content of interest for teenagers. Benchmark: Tiktok, Mundo Estranho, Social Media Trends, Superinteressante, Capricho. Quality over quantity.
CENTRAL HUB
A place to access when needed. The central hub is not a website for daily updates. It works against the constant digital tendency of 30 second information. It offers information, help with school and work, offer guidance, a place to be sought not craved.
It offers help in studying. Easy, illustrated, and quick articles to engage curiosity and knowledge. Online anonymous workshops, ranging from art, writing, illustration, script, coding, and many more.
WORKSHOP
There would be two instances of workshops. Online and Offline. Online are anonymous free online mini classes, ranging from writing and drawing. An easy and private way to learn new hobbies. While offline would be on—site activities, such as cooking, acting, and artisanal art.

HOW WE MADE IT?
Navigating the teenage years presents a unique challenge. Adolescents are in a constant state of flux, simultaneously forging their own generational norms and shaping their futures. It’s a delicate balance to address their concerns while also catering to their evolving needs. This led us to interview a range of experts, including psychologists, teachers, and parents, ultimately focusing our attention on students themselves.
Beyond interviews, our research incorporated an analysis of existing benchmarks and a deep dive into the daily realities of students' lives. This comprehensive approach allowed us to meticulously craft four distinct personas, ensuring our project is equipped to address the multifaceted experiences of high school teenagers.

PERSONA
It’s difficult to decide “how a student is like”. Instead, we mapped what they want to become or their tastes. We understand that each teenager will have a different lifestyle, a different hobby, a different group of friends, even if they share the same persona. For that reason, our focus is on “goals”.
We decided on three personas already with set goals, such as illustrators, business owner, and athletes. Another persona who is not sure what their goals are . And one last persona: the outliers. They do not share the same path as the others.
